My new phone!! Still not arrived…
by Jordan on Apr.06, 2010, under Techno-Babble
So, I have ordered my HTC Desire from T Mobile and I can’t wait for it to arrive. Dubbed the iPhone killer, I am hoping that the HTC Desire will be very impressive. At has a 5MP camera, a very large touch AMOled screen and lots of other good features. It also utilises HTC’s Sense UI, which is a fine tuned interface designed to excite it’s users. It is the perfect app for social networking, as it includes several programs which are designed to integrate seamlessly with Facebook, Twitter and Flicr, all of which I enjoy. I am yet to find out if it has all of the app availability of the Iphone but I will soon see. I am sure I will release a review as soon as it comes out!
Cheers, Jordan
Microsoft Office 2010
by Jordan on Jan.25, 2010, under Techno-Babble
For better or worse, the lives of millions of employees and students around the world depend on Microsoft Office. Not in a lose-my-life kind of way; more like a lose-my-job-if-I-miss-this-deadline situation. And the newest version of this software suite that rules our lives is on a deadline too.
Microsoft has scheduled the launch of Office 2010 for June of next year, with a Mac OS X version coming sometime later. The updated version of Office will come with “ribbon” support (the new interface cursed by millions of people worldwide) for all products, which includes:
•Microsoft Access 2010
•Microsoft Excel 2010
•Microsoft InfoPath Designer 2010
•Microsoft InfoPath Filler 2010
•Microsoft OneNote 2010
•Microsoft Outlook 2010
•Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
•Microsoft Publisher 2010
•Microsoft SharePoint Workspace 2010
•Microsoft Word 2010
•Office Communicator 2010
There will be several different versions of the Office 2010 suite, though Microsoft has not released details on how they will be priced. The packaged versions include Starter, Home and Student, Home and Business, Standard, Professional and Professional Plus. And it’s bound to be just as confusing as all the flavors of Windows 7.
There is good news for those who only use Word or Excel. Microsoft will release a free version of Office on new computers that only includes those two programs. There is a downside to be free: It will have ads in it. You didn’t think you’d get something for nothing did you?

Windows Live Writer
by Jordan on Aug.20, 2009, under Techno-Babble
G’Day! I have just been trying Windows Live Writer for the first time today! I didn’t realise quite what it entailed, but it seems to work quite well! It is a piece of software which is part of the Windows Live Essentials package, which allows you to update your blog direct from your desktop! It works like the built in Wordpress editor. You can add Videos, Pictures and Sounds to your blog. It is a very handy bit of kit!
A lot of the WL Essentials package seems to be bloatware – which has been tried and failed before, and at first glance, that is what Writer is. But after some use – I have decided to continue blogging with it. Until I get bored anyway!
You can download this program as part of the package from Microsoft at www.live.com.
Dropbox – Storage and Backup!
by Jordan on Aug.20, 2009, under Techno-Babble
Do you ever find your self wanting to transfer files from one computer to another, but find that you cant’ find your memory stick? This neat website called Drop-Box, allows all users to have 2GB free of online storage, which can be accessed anywhere in the world – and it integrates seamlessly with windows explorer – so you don’t even know you are uploading to the internet!
To the left is a picture of my Windows Explorer. As you can see, there is a link for Drop Box, and when clicked on, this will let me transfer files over the internet to my online storage space.

Inside this folder, I can see three more – which are placed there by default by DropBox. I can create more if I want to, and I can see these online at www.getdropbox.com!
To get DropBox, go online and get an account by clicking HERE. By using my link. you can get an extra 250mb of storage space!
New Twitter Background
by Jordan on Aug.18, 2009, under Techno-Babble

@JA_Webdesign has a new Background! I created it with FW CS4. I tried to keep it as basic as possible.
If you want to create your own Twitter background, go into your settings and click Theme. You can then upload your own image. I recommend using a GIF or JPEG image of around 2048×1707 Pixels! Don’t use a huge file because there is a sharp upload limit imposed on the site.
Have Fun!

I have just bought the new CD by Yusuf Islam – and I have to say, I am impressed. I wasn’t a huge fan of Cat Stevens – but Yusuf is amazing!
I recommend you go out and buy it! Or Download it from Itunes etc.
